EBRO DELTA NATURAL PARK

In 1983, The Catalan Government created the Ebro Delta Natural Park.

The Ebro Delta is a territory of 320 km², whose inhabitants live in harmony with the conservation of its valuable natural heritage. It is the most important aquatic habitat in the Western Mediterranean, after the Camargue (French Regional Park), and the second in Spain, after the Doñana National Park.

A paradise for birds

337 species have been cited in the Delta out of the nearly 600 in Europe. In addition, the local nomenclature includes about 250 names and makes it one of the richest in Catalonia. The species of great interest present in the Delta are: the white duck, the flamingo, the kingfisher, the partridge, the heron, etc.

The territory of the Ebro Delta Natural Park includes the municipalities of: l’Aldea, l’Ampolla, Camarles and Deltebre in the Baix Ebre and Sant Jaume d’Enveja, Sant Carles de la Ràpita and Amposta in the Montsià.
